More than 25 commercial agents based in Oxfordshire and London recently met at Bicester Motion for a fun-fuelled day to launch its new Innovation Quarter.
The highlights included a walking tour around their Heritage Quarter, an immersive trip in Land Rovers to the future mobility development site and being driven around the estate’s test track in both a vintage car courtesy of StarterMotor and a Jaguar F-Type SVR kindly supplied by Mission Motorsport.
The walking tour took in the estate’s 50+ Bicester Motion-based companies including NEOM McLaren Electric Racing, Motorsport UK, PhysicsX, Polestar’s UK HQ, and Zero.
The Land Rover trip to the site saw Jonty Ashworth, development lead, showcase the area for their seven new HQ buildings which have been purposefully designed for companies driving innovation and motion technology growth to continue to curate Bicester Motion’s cluster of past, present and future mobility companies.
Every agent had two contrasting but exhilarating experiences driven around the estate’s test track in a 1931 Alvis, thanks to resident charity and partner StarterMotor which is passionate about seeing the next generation of young people driving, maintaining and enjoying historic cars, and a Jaguar F-Type SVR provided by Mission Motorsport, the forces motorsport charity which aids in the recovery of rehabilitation of those affected by military operations through opportunities in motorsport.
The event finished in Bicester Motion’s Club Room with lunch and presentation from Jonty and Mike Doran, asset and leasing manager and a trip to Wriggly Monkey Brewery, the estate’s on-site tap room.
Jonty Ashworth, development lead, Bicester Motion said: “Our sincere thanks to everyone who came to see us and find out more about our estate and exciting development plans to build seven new HQ buildings to accelerate and house all forms of motion technology.
“We received fantastic feedback about the event, our vision and what we’re next delivering. We look forward to inviting our guests back in spring to review the construction progress on site. Thank you to everyone who helped make the event so successful including StarterMotor and Mission Motorsport, also to our photographer, Aurelien Langlais, who captured the day so perfectly.”
The guests received a goody bag which included locally produced products from Bicester Motion-based SkyWaveGin and Wriggly Monkey Brewery and nearby Stratton Audley Honey.
