Firstly, we would like to say thank you.
At Bicester Motion, we are incredibly fortunate to have a community that cares about the Scramble every bit as much as we do. Following our October event, many of you took the time to write, call and share your thoughts about the changes we made. We hugely value your feedback. We have heard it, and we genuinely appreciate the time you have taken to tell us what the Scramble means to you.
The changes introduced for October formed part of our preparations for the requirements of Martyn’s Law, formally the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025. The legislation introduces new security obligations for qualifying premises and events nationwide. Inevitably, preparing for these requirements means looking carefully at how an event operates, including the movement and management of people and vehicles.
One message from your feedback came through particularly clearly: you want the dedicated Pre-2001 and Performance & Supercar parking back. We will reinstate them for our 2027 Scrambles, while meeting the security responsibilities expected of venues and events under evolving legislation.
The Scramble’s appeal comes from the extraordinary mix of cars, motorcycles, aviation, specialist businesses and, above all, the people who come together at Bicester Motion. We know that arriving in your car and finding yourself surrounded by other remarkable machinery is part of that experience.
It contributes to the atmosphere that makes the Scramble feel like a Scramble; a remarkable fusion of different eras and categories of automotive and motorsport endeavour, alongside the specialist businesses that call our estate home. Together, they create an experience unlike any other.
Behind the scenes, our team is working through how we continue to deliver that experience in 2027. Our aim is to preserve the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere of the Scramble while continuing to deliver a safe, high-quality event for the breadth of enthusiasts who visit Bicester Motion.
The Scramble has evolved considerably over the years as Bicester Motion has grown, but its community has always been at its heart. Your feedback helps us protect what makes the event special as we navigate the requirements that come with staging an event of this scale.
Thank you for caring, for sharing your views and, most importantly, for continuing to be part of Bicester Motion. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2027.
The Bicester Motion team
