The Wriggly Monkey Brewery returns with the Tap Room this weekend, but the restock has come up with the goods. Charabanc Ruby Ale, Sanction U Red Ale and Overhead Valve Barley Wine are half price at the Bottle Shop, because of looming best before dates.
Red Ale stocks are so low that they’re available in-person only, for just £2 a bottle, while Charabanc and OHV can also be ordered online. Like the Red Ale, the 500ml bottles of Charabanc are down to £2 and the slow-aged 750ml Barley Wine is £6.25.
Regulars will also notice a new beer in a new style: the Black Tractor Irish Stout, a tribute to Harry Ferguson, in a can. That means it’s also more environmentally friendly thanks to smaller shipping methods and more.
‘Roasted oats give our Black Tractor a silky mouthfeel,’ WMB says, ‘with nutty aromas on the palette and a smooth bitterness to finish. The relatively low ABV of 3.2% is deceptive: it retains a full body, a deep and dark colouring, and pours with a creamy head like a true Irish stout.’
