Broad Arrow has announced a triple header of online sales will take place simultaneously online around the world in the new year, with viewings across Europe and UK including at its Bicester Motion base.
Each car will be special, and must fit a bill of being historically significant, be proven to have contributed to popular or collector-car culture or have been important to the ‘DNA of the respective marque’.
Each sale will run under the same 'Global Icons' banner, split into UK Online, Europe Online and Memorabilia Online auctions.
The earliest lots have already set the bar high. A late Lamborghini Miura P400 S, from 1971, is slated for €1.6-1.8m and one of the just 200 Ferrari 275 GTSs is expected to reach €1.4-1.5m – both of which are based in Germany. In the UK, a blue-over-blue Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina sold new by the famous Maranello Concessionaires is on offer with an estimate of £325,000-375,000.
The UK and Europe sales will open on 23 January and run for seven days, while the memorabilia event of 100 lots will run until the Sunday.
“Global Icons introduces an exciting new auction format to our clients,” said Joe Twyman, VP of sales for Broad Arrow’s EMEA Region. “The expansion of our footprint across the UK and Europe over the last two years allows us to present an online collector car auction experience to consignors and bidders, one that will both attract a very wide network of collectors and offer the unique opportunity to preview and inspect many of the cars on offer alongside a Broad Arrow car specialist at multiple convenient hub locations across Europe and the UK. We look forward to sharing more information about these exciting events soon.”
Consignments are being accepted until 16 January, seven days before the auctions open. See broadarrowauctions.com/events for more.
