Thriving online platform and Bicester Heritage auction partner Collecting Cars has added Private Sales to its service offering, providing a new way to buy and sell high-value vehicles from around the world.
Supported by bespoke marketing and content creation, and designed to serve collectors looking for a straightforward sale, Private Sales offers maximum exposure, unrivaled support for buyers, and total confidentiality for sellers.
Using the same technology-driven approach that Collecting Cars is renowned for and with a proven record of rapid market entry and quick sales, the service is backed up by the brand’s 100+ team of global specialists.
The first vehicle to be offered via Private Sales will be an incredible 1990 Grand Prix-winning Williams-Renault FW13B. This legendary racer, symbolic of a golden era of Formula 1, may exchange hands for more than the ex-Rod Stewart F50 (£2,940,500), which was the most expensive vehicle ever sold on an online-only platform outside the US.
Vehicles listed via Private Sales will receive unparalleled exposure to Collecting Cars’ 500,000 social followers and 200,000+ users. Chris Harris will also create bespoke content to showcase these cars to prospective buyers.
What kind of car is eligible for Private Sales? Collectible examples valued upwards of £250,000, but for those worth more than £1 million, there’s an added benefit; the new offering has a commission fee for sellers upon a successful transaction of just 6% (+VAT where applicable), with the fee capped at £50k. This means that the equivalent fee for a £1 million sale is just 5%; for a £2 million sale just 2.5%; and for a car sold for £5 million, a fee that equates to just 1% of the value.
