F1 stars' sports cars going under the hammer

Broad Arrow has an eclectic mix in its Zoute sale

Broad Arrow has brought together a spectacular catalogue for its upcoming auction at Zoute in Switzerland, from brand-new hypercar to Austin Healey Sprite.

Curiously, both British models have been owned by Grand Prix winners, with Daniel Ricciardo the first name on the Aston Martin Valkyrie’s logbook and Jacky Ickx the most recent on the Frogeye’s. Proceeds from the latter will be donated by the six-time Le Mans winner to a charity in Rwanda.

A remarkable nine cars could surpass €1m during the sale on Friday 10 October in a still-growing catalogue. Other highlights include the 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione Specification that scored fifth at Le Mans in 1974 while top lot could be a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4, in Verde Pino.

Other winners include the 1976 24 hours of Spa winning BM1 3.0 CSL – with an all-Belgian driving squad. There are curios, too, such as the 1955 Abarth Boano 207 A, one of just 11, and the Arnolt Bristol Bolide, while €100,000 will be required to take home a 1985 Citroën BX 4TC.
