McLaren Racing’s Formula-E division will join over 50 motorsport and automotive businesses at Bicester Heritage’s unique motoring marina.

The company’s Formula E Team will be formed through the acquisition of the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team that will see the reigning ABB FIA Formula E World Championship team transfer into the McLaren Racing family. The move move reflects its commitment to the third generation of Formula E – which will see the introduction of the series’ fastest race car yet.

McLaren Racing’s recent acquisition of EV technology is part of the company’s ongoing sustainability journey, while reaching a new, global audience.

McLaren Racing currently competes in IndyCar, Extreme E and of course Formula 1. In Formula 1 it was also the first team to be awarded FIA Three-Star Accreditation for sustainability and is a signatory to the UNFCCC Sport for Climate Action framework established to drive the climate agenda in the sports industry.

Bicester Heritage, part of the Bicester Motion umbrella brand, celebrates all aspects of motion, from historic motoring and motorsport to aviation, EV and autonomous flight.

Daniel Geoghegan, Chief Executive of Bicester Motion, comments: “McLaren’s Formula-E acquisition is as unique as our site. We look forward to supporting them during this next phase of their development."

Zak Brown, McLaren Racing CEO adds: “It’s an exciting time for McLaren with our recent acquisition of the Formula-E time and our move to Bicester. We are looking forward to celebrating this point of difference from our new home, while continuing to provide racing that is iconic for our fans, while working on our sustainability pathway.”
