Hagerty UK revealed its top 10 cars to watch in 2026 at its Clubhouse during the Scramble, with cars for every generation on the 2026 Bull Market List.
Oldest in the 10 has strong links to Bicester Motion, in fact, having been provided by Blue Diamond Riley Services for the photoshoot in Hangar 113. Prices of the Riley Nine Imp has levelled off to the point where the very best are offering great value for money – and prewar motoring rarely gets better. Average value on the Hagerty Price Guide is around £60,000, they say.
Newest on the list is the second-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK, the R171. Priced around £5000, it makes it an appealing proposition.
Other 2000s picks include the 996-generation Porsche 911, with Carrera 2s the pick of the bunch for value for money. Hagerty recommends buying the best spec available to really make the investment pay.
The A80 Toyota Supra, the fourth iteration of the Japanese icon, is following its NSX and Nissan GT-R rivals into the collector market, while the manual Ferrari F430 is rising and rising – £95,400 would currently nab an ‘excellent’ example.
Also on the list is the MGA 1600, with Hagerty calling it the sweet spot between 1500 and Twin Cam, while the Mk1 Ford Transit made the cut. The world’s favourite van has room to rise, Hagerty says, despite values creeping up 6% in recent years, and the Vauxhall Viva deserves a look thanks to its slight lowering in values.
Two that perhaps didn’t need the confidence boost were the Mk2 VW Golf GTI and Alfa Romeo Spider. Hagerty opts for the 2000 Veloce of the Duetto, with ‘excellent’ condition variants around £21,000 and excellent value.
