HERO-ERA has opened its pioneering Rally for the Ages event for entries. The one-day rally takes place on 11 July on the winding b-roads close to the organiser’s Bicester Motion base, and rewards youthful entrants.

If the age of the driver and navigator combine to be younger than 70, the entry fee is refunded. Entrants under the age of 30 also receive a year’s free membership.

The event starts and ends at nearby Hardwick, with a briefing followed by two regularities and two tests. After lunch, two more regularities and two tests will conclude the event before the prizegiving ceremony.

Cars on sale before 1991 are eligible, grouped into classes.

Around a third of the 2025 competitors were teenagers, and the winner car’s navigator was just 12 years old. Beatrix guided her father Nick Bloxham to the victory in a Ford Escort Mexico. Beatrix also claimed the Clockwatcher’s Award for best navigator.
