Sky Wave Gin has partnered with the Bodleian Library to create the historic institution’s first-ever London Dry gin.

Co-founder and master distiller Andrew Parsons called it: “A great honour to work with one of the world’s oldest libraries,” adding that they “worked hard to capture the essence of the Bodleian."

Sky Wave says the flavour has been inspired by the Divinity School’s ceiling, designed and created by William Orchard in the 15th century. Andrew said he was also drawn to “the amazing wood and leather aromas of Duke Humfrey’s Library."

Sales help preserve the vast library collection, which officially opened in 1602.

The gin is distilled at the Northern Tanker Sheds at Bicester Motion and is exclusively available from the library’s shop on Broad Street in Oxford and online. The gin comes in 70cl or 20cl bottles.
