Electrogenic has added comedian Jimmy Carr to its line of A-listers by converting his 1967 Aston Martin DB6 to electric power.

The 1967 model was revealed at Salon Privé at Blenheim Palace, offering 150 miles of real-world range and capable of 100kW rapid charging. As with all of Electrogenic’s conversions the process is fully reversible and has not impacted the original platform.

“We were delighted to be asked to convert Jimmy Carr’s cherished Aston Martin DB6 from petrol to state-of-the-art electric power,” said Steve Drummond, CEO, Electrogenic. “Electrogenic’s conversion gives it effortless and reliable performance to match its stunning looks, and we’re extremely proud of the results.”

The car now produces 150kW, or 200bhp, and can sprint from 0-60 mph in 6.5 secs, topping out at around 90 mph. Electrogenic’s more powerful 210kW/280bhp motor can be specified on the DB6 upgrade, though.

“As with all our work with classic vehicles, the conversion is in keeping with the original character of the car, delivering a familiar but now hassle-free driving experience,” Steve added. “The Electrogenic Aston Martin DB6 has ample reserves of power to match its celebrated design - all with the convenience of total reliability and zero tailpipe emissions. It’s a delight to drive and a real head turner.”
