Parkers crowned the Renault 4 E-tech its car of the year in the New Car Awards 2026, with Hangar 113 as its evocative backdrop.
'Inside, it feels thoughtfully designed and cheerfully honest – roomy where it matters, neatly trimmed and full of clever touches that make everyday life easier,' the judges said of the 4.
Twelve cars took the limelight, from best value car to best luxury, but it was the Best Small Family Car winner that was crowned overall.
It saw off stablemates Renault 5 E-tech, Best First Car winner, and Best Medium Family Car victor Renault Scenic E-tech for the award. The Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer was named Best Large Family Car, while the Mercedes-Benz CLA was a double winner: Best Company Car and the Disruptor of the Year.
The Mazda MX-5 won Best Fun Car, Leapmotor’s T03 was named Best Value Car and the BMW 7-Series secured Best Luxury Car. Hyundai Ioniq 9 is Parkers’ Best Seven-Seater and the Best Used Car is the Skoda Karoq.
