Adam Gompertz and his beloved Rover P4 will make their small-screen debuts on National Geographic at 8pm on Thursday 7 May, as Auntie Rover gets the Car SOS treatment.
National Geographic can be found on channel 129 on Sky.
‘I don’t think Car SOS has received so many nominations for one person before now,’ says host Fuzz Townshend in Classic Car Weekly, ‘but car-ish cleric Adam GOmpertz had them coming from all directions.’
A glimpse of the reborn Wilbur, as the car is known, was to be found at the Scramble, tucked away at Harry Fraser Vehicle Upholstery. You’d be forgiven for not recognising it, because what was once a humble dark P4 is now a very different beast.
Adam has helped innumerable people with his REVS group, including restoring a Land Rover as a social project, making him the most fitting recipient of a helping hand.
