Sammy Ruff has won the Young Achiever Award at the Royal Automobile Club Historic Awards at Pall Mall, London.

A trimmer for Harry Fraser Vehicle Upholstery at the Engine Test House, ‘Sammy's career to date represents exactly the contribution to historic motoring from a young person they were looking for,’ said lead judge Vanessa Marçais.

She follows her twin sister and Triumph Herald co-owner Cat onto the Royal Automobile Club stage, who won the award in 2024 thanks to her machining work for Kingsbury Racing.

The category is supported by StarterMotor, the on-site charity of Bicester Motion, and is open to individuals aged 30 and under and working in the historic motoring industry.

Elsewhere in the awards, the 1924 Hispano-Suiza H6C Boulogne owned by dealer Simon Kidston and restored by Jonathan Wood Ltd claimed the Restoration award ahead of the Jaguar C-type entered by Pendine.

Judging took place in the grand surroundings of Hangar 113 early in November, when the judges found the 8-litre to be 'perhaps the most exceptional restoration they’d ever seen.’ The car was owned by Bentley Boy and 1930 Le Mans winner Glen Kidston, and today is part of his nephew's collection.
