Two Bicester Motion-based businesses have been shortlisted in the Cherwell Business Awards, which celebrates the best of the local area.
North South Wines, newly relocated within the Technical Site from the Guard House to the larger Works Services Building (Building 144), has been named as finalist in two of the nine awards categories. The wine distributor and importer is in the running for the Large Business Award, sponsored by SE Solicitors and which was won by Bicester Motion in 2025.
The company’s green credentials have been recognised, too, resulting in a nomination for the Sustainable Business Award, sponsored by Banbury and District Chamber of Commerce. North South Wines is the country’s first B Corp wine distributor and importer, holding itself to – and hitting – ambitious environmental targets.
Fellow Bicester Motion specialist StarterMotor is also a hopeful in the awards, having been named in the final three for the Charity and Community Award category, sponsored by Bicester Village.
StarterMotor is run by Steve Cootes with Gracie Haddon, helping to introduce the next generation to the opportunities within the automotive sector.
The Chesterton Hotel in Bicester will host the awards ceremony on Friday 18 September.
