Bicester Heritage-based automotive charity StarterMotor and the remarkable variety of work being undertaken by its Ambassadors will be the focus of the central display at the Scramble on Sunday 21 April.
StarterMotor currently has 26 active Ambassadors passionate about classic cars, starting as young as 14, all looking to build a career in the sector – whether mechanically or in media.
The display will comprise cars representative of the Ambassadors and their employees, with some honing their skills at specialists in Bugatti, Ferrari, pre-war Aston Martin, Austin and MG, while others are beginning careers in Formula 1. The StarterMotor fleet of classics, 10 cars available to Ambassadors throughout the year from Austin Seven to Audi TT, will supplement the eclectic display by the Station Armoury.
A number of the Ambassadors will be interviewed by David Withers, StarterMotor CEO, during the Scramble to bring the cars they have been working on to life, and to highlight the opportunities available to the next generation.
“To be able to champion the work of the Ambassadors on the central display space at the Scramble is very exciting for StarterMotor,” David said. “Many attendees will be surprised by the calibre of cars these young enthusiasts work on day in, day out. Hopefully it will inspire more young people to consider a career in classic cars, and show the variety of opportunities that are on offer in the industry.”
Tickets for the Scramble on Sunday 21 April are on sale now but availability is limited – more than 75% have sold in the first 10 days. Tickets are available from bicesterheritage.co.uk/events
