Banbury based Arctic Trucks, which built the Tamiya Bruiser and Isuzu Basecamp special editions coming to Festive Four-Wheelers on Sunday 10 December will be dusting off more machines for a cracker of a display.

The Top Gear Hilux (not that one) that took Jeremy Clarkson and James May to the North Pole in 2007 is expected, the big, red bruising TY07 HLX that starred in the classic Polar Special.

It survived boulder fields, heavy snow and hefty hits to win the race against Richard Hammond on a dog sled. The machine was built in seven months at the Iceland home of Arctic Trucks, using the AT38 that is a mainstay of Antarctica as its basis.

The Bruiser, which was converted for Tamiya and Toyota UK is an AT37, which is similar but with better road-going abilities. A Hilux AT35 was used by Red Bull along with the Isuzu Basecamp at Hardline in Wales, known as ‘the world’s toughest downhill mountain bike race’, and is also in the Arctic Trucks UK stable.

Perhaps the most familiar to outdoor fans is the AT33, which features a raft of reinforcements and upgrades to take the standard Hilux farther and higher.

You’ll be able to compare and contrast an array of the models, including with the Isuzu counterparts, during Festive Four-Wheelers on Sunday 10 December. Tickets are £5 per person and available from the Shop.
